Personally, I really dislike botox and cosmetic surgery (for vanity purposes).

There is nothing more beautiful to me than seeing genuine emotions, imperfections and wrinkles on other people's faces.

I guess I can't say what I will feel like about my own face, later on in life, but it does make me feel sad people feel they need to change their bodies and faces.

Sometimes I wonder what affect it has socially, when we cant see emotions and the subtle facial expressions. For kids who have parents with botox.

Like you said, who is it for? Themselves hopefully. But I do think it often speaks to something deeper than the skin.

I would much rather see a real, unique, expressive face any day!

Oh absolutely, same hon. And when I see those old wizened faces of elders, they're simply stunningly beautiful. I guess people's reasons are so complex when it comes to matters of appearance. I mean, heck, there are days when I just have to put lipstick on, or mascara in order to feel attractive! Jeez. What are we like?! X

I know. Makeup feels more like adornment though, and at least you can smile your real smile. I think it's the physical changing of expression (or lack of) that I don't like. And removal of individuality and uniqueness. Each to their own and all that. But I don't like it. ๐Ÿ˜†
